Our Home

5180 N. Fifeshire Place is our new address. Same zip code, as we are only moving 2 blocks away. As we purchased the home on June 18th, and still have not moved in, one might wonder what is going on in there. So here is a bit of the work we've done, and some pictures of the progress. (there really is progress despite what it looks like.

Mater Suite During Const. (major changes, i.e. wall is gone.)
Found some surprises when we decided to move the wall. Like a couple of water pipes in the middle of it that had to be moved, and some not to code wiring that brought on a very expensive electrical redo that we weren't planning on when we started the project. Nothing lost though as it is pretty important to have good wiring.

This picture says a lot. Taken shortly before the board I am prying on popped off and hit me in the head. Still have a bump and bruise as well as some dried blood. Very thankful it wasn't worse, like knocking me off the ladder...

There was a wall on the stairs to the left as seen by the missing strip of drywall on the ceiling. We didn't like it too much, so now there is no drywall, and hence no railing, which we are currently focused on finishing by the end of next week. I have my work cut out for me on that one let me say. Also the fireplace I am leaning on is brand new. There was a terrible wood burning fireplace in its place that weighed about 300 lbs and now sits on our patio as an outdoor fireplace where it is much better suited.

I am now a master arch framer as Lyuba wanted five of them built all in different sizes and shapes. I have to give her credit though, they do look great where they are placed. This one shows the entrance to our dining room.
The picture below shows where are new built in refrigerator and freezer will be. As well as some pantry cabinets, a drinking fountain, a must with five kids, and a new entry to the bathroom. We removed a walk-in pantry, a hall closet which we have enough of, and moved the bathroom entry.
